Fruitarians (Argumentative Text)

Fruitarianism is defined as a diet that is predominantly raw fruit, with the remainder of the diet being composed of raw vegetarian foods.
Fruitarianism is possible according to the idealistic dietary theory, but it can be very difficult to practice. The diet has many pitfalls that can cause serious problems for the “fruitarian wannabes”. Fruitarianism portrays fruit as the ideal natural food.
For Tomás B. the modern fruit is the product of generations; in some cases, thousands of years, of human-directed plant breeding. Modern fruit has been bred for a high sugar content.
Fernando García said that he was a fruitarian during most of the 1970's, when he lived in Mérida. “I no longer follow a fruitarian diet; instead I strongly recommend that others follow a more diverse; less extreme, and more balanced diets.”
Very few people have claimed succeed on the fruitarian diet, in the long term. It is said to be a "cleansing diet" and may be helpful as a therapeutic diet, in the short run.
On one hand, the diet of fruits in the short run can promote physical health, you appear to be immune to many illnesses, and injuries may heal quickly, your respiratory system may function better, your senses grow to an extraordinary degree, specifically the senses of taste and smell and it also may reduce the amount of water you need to drink as fruits have a high water content.
On the other hand, the diet is extremely difficult, hunger and cravings are frequent, same as backsliding, cheating and binge eating. In addition to that, the modern fruit is expensive, and it often lacks in freshness and/or quality as a result of shipping, refrigeration, fumigation, and other post-harvest processing. Strict fruitarians usually experience severe weight loss, with weight stabilizing at levels associated with anorexia nervosa or starvation.
Don't try fruitarianism out of fear of cooked food or protein. If you choose to try fruitarianism do so only if you have clear, positive reasons to motivate you. A fruitarian diet that includes protein foods and leafy greens will pose fewer risks/problems than a 100% fruit diet. At any case, I wish you good luck with all the diets you try.
