Musical Fruits (Narrative text)

Today, we approach to the music field and look upon two groups, who bear names such as those of fruits.

The group 'The Cranberries' was born in 1989, five years before the quintet Alicante "Guaraná". The first one of these bands was composed by four young friends: Noel Hogan, Mike Hoganm Fergal Lawler and as a singer Dolores O'Riordan. While "Guaraná" includes: David Navarro on the electric guitar, Vincent sights on the bass, Paquito Cherro on the drums and Cuco Shilling on the percussion. “The Cranberries” was an Irish band that fell in several musical genres from indie, neo-punk, rock, pop and classical, to alternative rock, soft rock, and even the instrumental and heavy metal or rock. On the other side "Guaraná" was released in a style that mixed in with funky rhythms Caribbean, Brazilian and African percussion. Both groups have succeeded in achieving great popularity in many countries maintaining their own personality.

Guaraná created four albums, the first one was “El efecto guaraná”, the second one was “Vampiros en la Habana”, the third one was “Guaraná” and the last one was “Guaraná de lao a lao”. While, "the Cranberries" has created five albums, and the best it’s the last one “Stars: The Best of the Cranberries, 1992-2002”.

The cranberries won the prize "Best Selling International Group of 2002" in Taiwan, with the album "Stars - Best of 1992-2002". The band was unable to attend the ceremony but sent a video greeting.
